The Future Jobs Fund was a scheme announced in 2009 to fund around 100,000 jobs, mainly aimed at 18–24 year olds who have been out of work for six months and claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance. The scheme was funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and referrals came via Job Centre Plus. We were approached to build a Future Jobs Fund Portal by a national regeneration charity that was working with DWP. This was a grants management system that allowed Employers to enter details of their vacancies and employees, to be submitted to the DWP and Job Centre Plus. To date, over £6m of grant claims were managed through this system.
